Addison Singers: Two Pianists One Piano

Music Director of the Addison Singers (David Wordsworth) and Assistant Music Director (Matthew Hough) join forces in a slightly unusual way to give a fund-raising concert for the forthcoming Addison Singers trip to Vienna. Although they have played the occasional duet as part of Addison Singers concerts, David & Matthew gave their first complete performance together at the Malcolm Arnold Festival in Northampton in October this year. They repeat part of that enjoyable programme on January 31st – Sir Malcolm Arnold’s tuneful ‘English Dances’ ; the jazzy ‘Trois Pieces’ by Constant Lambert; Sir Richard Rodney Bennett’s ‘Suite for Skip & Sadie’ (an engaging collection of pieces written in homage to the composer’s cats) and Sir William Walton’s ‘Duets or Children’, written especially for young relatives of the composer –  all these pieces alongside more popular duets by Faure & Gershwin, as well as amazing cocktails and food should make for a memorable evening.
