H&G Spotlight Employee: Martin Clements

.How long have you worked for Horton and Garton? I have worked at Horton and Garton since the first day of business in 2008.

.Where did you grow up and what did you do before H&G? I grew up in Salisbury, South West England. I moved to London following time abroad working on a farm in South Africa and also travelling in Australia and Canada.

.Funniest Horton and Garton moment? Rather embarrassingly (and I am not sure who was more embarrassed) I caught a viewer washing his feet in the sink- rather a shock I can tell you!

.Favourite film? It would have to be a tie between ‘The Gladiator’ and ‘Saving Private Ryan’.

.Which (if any) sports teams do you support? Tottenham Hotspur; on the verge of something special every season yet they always seem to fall short, 2013/2014 is the year…

.Favourite band/artist, album, and song? Rolling back the years I am a big fan of Fleetwood Mac, with ‘Go Your Own Way’ being one of my favourite ever songs. 70’s and 80’s music in general is the era I am most keen on.

.Favourite food? Pasta.

.What do you like doing outside of work? Any hobbies? I am a keen sportsman and have grown up playing, Rugby, Hockey and Cricket. I play League Cricket in the Hampshire County 1 division and five a side football on week day evenings. When I am not playing sport I would most likely be watching Sky Sports 1!

.Best thing about working at Horton and Garton? Having worked for a corporate Estate Agent prior to H&G, the philosophy of ‘the agent’ is far more tailored to our clients needs and interests here, and ultimately we provide a service a paying client should expect. At H&G we work for our clients and not ourselves whilst still retaining the competitive edge in the office needed to keep pushing ourselves. This approach has led to a large amount of repeat business and recommendations which every good business needs to survive and grow.
