Hammersmith Broadway and Shepherds Bush Green Bus Terminals offer a wide network bus routes; take the No. 9, No.10, No.211, No. 266, No. 267 and No.94 for a short journey in to the West End.
Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush are located between two major road arteries, the A4 and the A40 with its easy connection to the M4/M40, M1 and the North and South Circular Roads. Reaching Heathrow, Gatwick or Luton airports by road is also convenient.
For the bicycle enthusiasts there are many well marked cycle lanes across the Borough as well as the wonderful Thames river tow path offering cyclists easy access to Chiswick, Kew and Richmond.
Shopping
For the more practical matters in life a variety of supermarkets and shops can be found on King Street and in King’s Mall. There is a weekly farmers market held at the Lyric Square. The shops of Shepherds Bush and Uxbridge Road offer a worldly and bohemian diversity and an outside local market. The Westfield Shopping Centre, one of the largest shopping malls in the UK is within walking distance of Shepherds Bush and Wood Lane.
Going Out
Zone 2 West London is full of down time and social activities. Hammersmith, being a Thames-side Borough has wonderful scenic river tow path walks from Hammersmith Bridge up the Mall, where the many rowing clubs can be found, to Chiswick Eyot and offers amongst other things, some of London’s oldest and most historic pubs. Ravenscourt Park and its wonderful open green spaces offer an escape for all ages.
Hammersmith enjoys The Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith Apollo and The Riverside Studios offering a variety of arts, the Shepherds Bush Empire and the Shepherds Bush Theatre/playhouse hold regular live music, shows and plays as does The Bush Hall. Hammersmith has a four screen cinema located on King Street whilst the Shepherds Bush's W12 centre has a 12-screen Vue Cinema. King Street, W6 and Uxbridge Road and Goldhawk Road, W12 offer the widest choice of world cuisine, so if you enjoy eating out, we can safely say that there must be a restaurant for every day of the year!
Schools
For the growing families: Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush offer a number of impressive schools, both state and fee-paying from Nursery to Secondary. Those on our shortlist include the Primary schools of - John Betts, Brackenbury, St Peter’s, Ravenscourt Prep, Latymer Prep. Godolphin and Latymer Girls' School and Latymer School can both be found in Brackenbury so to is the Arts Ed School of performing arts. Nearby just over Hammersmith Bridge in to Barnes are and St Paul's and Harrodian School. Bute Preparatory School, Ecole Francaise Jacques Prevert, Larmenier and Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School and High School, and Addison Gardens Primary School are located in Brook Green.
