The Hogarth 500
We will walk 500 miles and we will walk 500 more!
With the current restrictions in place, it feels like part of life is on pause. We may have missed the signature spirit evoked by the London Marathon but Team Horton and Garton is about to embark upon The Hogarth 500 – a fitness fundraiser taking place across the month of November organised by West London’s finest private members’ club, The Hogarth Health Club. Teams must complete a cumulative 500 miles of running, rowing, walking or cycling through the month of November in aid of the marvellous Sport in Mind charity.
The Hogarth’s Health and Fitness Manager Vojin Soskic says of The Hogarth 500, “We hope the event, when there aren’t any anywhere at the moment, gives people a reason to train more, creates a great community spirit and raises money for an important cause.” Email Vojin at vojin@thehogarth.co.uk to register your team.
Watch this space and witness the fitness for jaw-dropping, hilarity-inducing evidence of our two teams’ efforts to reach 1,000 miles at the Hogarth Health Club… we will walk 500 miles and we will walk, row, cycle, run 500 more – in the name of West London’s indomitable community spirit and a much-needed charity:
Sport in Mind is a mental health charity delivering physical activity projects in partnership with our awesome NHS in order to aid recovery, promote mental wellbeing, improve physical health, combat social isolation and empower people to move their lives forward in a positive position. In short, they improve the lives of people experiencing mental health problems through sport and physical activity.
In keeping with the competitive spirit, there are fabulous prizes on offer: the first team to achieve the 500 miles will win a meal and a bottle of wine for each team member at The Airedale, the individual who logs the most miles in November will win a much-needed massage at The Medispa and the person who raises the most money will get a free month’s membership.
Director John Horton urges our neighbours in Hammersmith, Chiswick and Shepherd’s Bush to get involved saying, “Press play on the fun-loving, fundraising, heart-pumping part of your life – sign up for The Hogarth 500 today!”
In return for signing up, all the Hogarth ask for is a donation to Sport in Mind via the Hogarth 500 JustGiving page.
