This weekend’s Sunday Times acknowledged the best State and Independent schools across the nation according to their 2016 SATs results. St Stephen’s C of E Primary School in Shepherds Bush came joint 5th in the nation while Belmont Primary School in Chiswick and St Peter’s C of E Primary and John Betts Primary – both in Hammersmith – also ranked within the top schools in the country. Local independent schools Notting Hill and Ealing High School and Orchard House also appeared in the top tables.Michael Schumm, Headteacher of St Stephen’s in Shepherds Bush told us, “The results are a tremendous achievement for the children, teachers and our parent community. This is something that we can all be proud of.”Richard Martin, Acting Headteacher of Belmont Primary in Chiswick, says, “I am extremely proud of the children at Belmont for their positive attitudes towards learning and would like to thank all of the Belmont staff for their dedication and hard work.”Karen Frazer, Headteacher at St Peter’s in Hammersmith says, “I’m delighted by the outcome of the SATs results and obviously making it into the top 250 schools in the country. This comes on top of a fantastic year which saw the school achieve Ofsted Outstanding in March as well as an outstanding SIAMS result in October.
