Multi-tasking, baby-bouncing and the pleasures of rain

It was supposed to be my morning off work. But instead, a few hours of looking after my two children became a multi-tasking challenge!
The morning started with my wife issuing instructions on the order of the day, from washing, drying and shopping, to cleaning, getting one child to school, making a packed lunch, attending a baby bounce session at Askew Road Library and home for school sports day and a picnic. All before 1pm!

While the domestic tasks were easily dispatched, it was then time to take my smallest one to the baby bounce at Askew Road Library.

It’s expertly run by H&F Council’s Amanda Streets, who has the patience of a saint, who handles the well-attended scrum of children of all ages and mums/dads/carers/nannies/au pairs/you name it with consummate ease.

Seeing as the rain had cancelled sports day, I had the time to pop in to extraordinary deli and butcher shop The Ginger Pig in Askew Road to choose my supper, before racing home to get my baby son’s lunch on the go. What a morning!
