John Horton


Owner and Director, John has lived, worked and raised his family in Hammersmith for over twenty years. His wealth of contacts and property experience across Hammersmith, Shepherds Bush and West Kensington is the stuff of legend. Years in corporate agency crystalised for John the importance of staff retention, dedication to continual training and industry qualification and, above all, a client focused approach to business. Paul Cooney

Director, Chiswick Sales

Paul started his estate agency career in Brighton with a family run business and he recognised the same principles of honesty, integrity, ethical practice in Horton and Garton. Paul moved to West London in 2010 and has spent the majority of his time in agency at the helm of the Chiswick branch of a London-wide company. He’s sold in excess of 400 properties in W4 worth over £300 million. His knowledge of the Chiswick property market and commitment to the local community is second to none. Paul’s legendary ability to match buyers to their perfect property before it hits the open market means Horton and Garton’s Chiswick office is in the top five in W4 for sales agreed. Paul says, “A decade of working in agency has made me realise that personal relationships are the key to success.” He was recently honoured with the Rising Star Award from a nationwide shortlist of eighteen agents at the 2018 Negotiator Awards.

Ashley Clements

Lettings Manager

West London local and avid QPR fan, Ashley Clements started his estate agency career in Hammersmith. He joined Horton and Garton in its first year of business and now runs the most successful team in Hammersmith, Chiswick and Shepherds Bush.. His local knowledge of West London and unparalleled experience make him a favourite among landlords and tenants. He is consistently on the front foot with changing legislation and licensing. Famously unflappable, Ashley’s approach to your property is always the height of professionalism.

Martin Clements

Sales Manager

Martin grew up in the south west of England and was educated at King’s Taunton, Somerset. Inspired by his father, a chartered surveyor, Martin chose the property route for his career. He later moved to West London and has been at the helm of the King Street sales team since Horton and Garton’s very first day of trading. Always head and shoulders above the competition, Martin manages the most successful sales team in Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush. He has been in the manager’s chair for so long he has sold many West London properties more than once! An intimate knowledge of each street and unwavering commitment to his clients are key to his success.

Michael Mudie

Operations Manager

Born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne, Michael moved to London in 2013 to advance his career in Property Management and further his property knowledge in a much larger city along with obtaining his ARLA qualifications. Michael has re-joined the Horton and Garton, W6 team as our Operations Manager, having spent the last two years working for another central London Fitzrovia based agent. With a hands on and pragmatic approach to problem solving and getting the job done well Michael always works in the best interests for all parties involved and all landlords and contractors are promptly paid.

James Liggins

Associate Director,
Chiswick Sales

A West London local, James has only ever sold Chiswick property. He’s particularly enamoured with river walks and the 65 spectacular acres of Chiswick House and Gardens. A hard working property professional with a background in corporate agency, he is delighted to have cast off his shackles in favour of the trademark ‘Client First’ approach taken by Team H&G. James loves meeting new buyers and works exceptionally hard to ensure he pairs each person with their perfect property. Fitness fanatic James can frequently be spotted at the Hogarth Health Club. A keen runner, he goes the extra mile both at work and on the treadmill.

Phil Coombes

Sales Negotiator

Phil began his career in agency in 2015 right here in West London. An integral part of the sales team, Phil handles each client with the utmost care and professionalism. He is renowned for working long, unsociable hours to ensure the sales and acquisitions process is as seamless as possible for all parties. What he loves most about agency is that each day brings a new challenge. Phil relishes the opportunity to meet new people and help guide them through the buying and selling process. He is, for his sins, a Torquay United supporter and enjoys watching and playing both football and tennis.

Agatha Tukendorf

Lettings Negotiator

Aggie first started at Horton and Garton in 2010. Her degree in Public Relations, boundless energy, tenacity and winning smile have led her to carve out a successful career in lettings. Part of the furniture at Horton and Garton, she helps make up the most successful lettings team in Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush. Aggie is constantly exceeding expectations for landlords and tenants alike and still maintains that the best part of the job is meeting people and helping to find their ideal home. Ashley Prowse

Ashley Prowse

Property Management

Ashley Prowse spent much of his career in the food and beverage industry before joining Horton and Garton. He finds that his people skills and attention to detail help him rise to the daily challenges of property management. Being raised in East Sheen hasn’t prevented Ashley from being a lifelong fan of North Londons Arsenal FC. Ashley plays a key role ‘behind the scenes’ and ensures our landlords and tenants are assisted promptly with any property maintenance issues – an area of the business which consistently receives rave reviews. Our landlord retention rate is extremely high and this is a testament to our hard working property management team.

Delia Macarie

Lettings Administrator

Multifaceted Delia is an exercise enthusiast with a unique hobby: hair. A qualified hairdresser, she keeps this passion alive when her busy schedule permits. A lover of nature, art and languages, she’s lived in several countries throughout Europe. Our resident civil engineer has an innate affection for buildings and property. With extensive property management experience, Delia prides herself on her ability to handle each landlord and tenant with delicacy, understanding and consideration. She is a keen cyclist and has done tours of various European countries.

Rebecca Fritsche

Lettings Support

Rebecca has over a decade of experience in property and now applies her expertise to managing Horton and Garton’s lettings administration process. As clients face ever-changing legislation, her role is vital in assisting landlords with starting and ending tenancies in an efficient and timely manner. She is thorough in her approach and steadfast in her resolve to do the very best for each landlord and tenant. Rebecca is a lifelong local resident and outside of work she enjoys party planning and spending quality time with her young family.

Jenn Irvine

Client Care and Communications, Chiswick

With a background in public relations and communications, Jenn assisted Paul and John in establishing Horton and Garton’s Chiswick office. Jenn has relished the opportunity to help grow the business and communicate the consistent message that Horton and Garton is helmed by the most honest, client-focussed and hard-working professionals in the Chiswick, Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush communities. A firm believer in servant leadership, Jenn chaired the Chiswick and Hammersmith branch of the NCT, sat on the committee of the Belmont School’s PTA and was a part of the core team of volunteers that established The Shelter Project Hounslow in 2011. Jenn still volunteers in the Christ Church Turnham Green TSPH kitchen every winter. Jenn has a an MSc in Global Media and Communications from the London School of Economics and an MA in Global Communications from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Communications.
