Flora Gardens Primary School, also catering to families in Brackenbury Village, is positioned on the eastern edge of Ravenscourt Park.

Melcombe Primary School

Melcombe Primary School is a community school located opposite Charing Cross Hospital, at the northern end of The Crabtree Estate.

An incredibly highly regarded primary school, led by Head Teacher David Collins, Brackenbury Primary holds several well-attended annual events. 

John Betts Primary School

Named after Dr John Betts (Died 1875) who was an English doctor and philanthropist who endowed schools in Hammersmith. 

Today, John Betts Primary School is deemed to be one of the best schools in Hammersmith and is often oversubscribed, with more children applying to the school than there are places available. 

Larmenier & Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School

A highly regarded primary school in Brook Green. Families often seek homes nearby with a view to securing a place within the school, but also driven by the prospect of living in Brook Green, which is a truly wonderful corner of W6 in which to reside. 

St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School 

Disbrowe Road, W6 8QE

St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School is located at the very southern tip of the W6 postcode area, near the border with Fulham and Barons Court. 

The school ethos focuses on providing a high-quality education within a Catholic framework.

West London Free School Primary

St Paul’s CE Primary School 

Worlidge Street, W6 9BP

Incredibly centrally located, St Paul’s CE Primary School is positioned just a stone’s throw from King Street and near to Hammersmith Bridge. 

This state-run, Primary School caters to children from nursery age and through primary years. 

Secondary Schools in Hammersmith

There are a number of excellent secondary schools in Hammersmith catering to children aged 11 and up. Many also offer education for sixth form aged children. 

Sacred Heart High School

This single sex, Roman Catholic Secondary School for girls is a highly regarded school.

West London Free School is a relatively new school, arranged over two different sites and is led by joint Head Teachers, Rob Peal and Ben McLaughlin. We did an interview with Rob Peal and Ben McLaughlin, joint heads of West London Free School regarding the school and ethos in a recent interview.

Opened over 25 years ago, William Morris Sixth Form is a dedicated sixth form setting, catering to those aged 16-19 focusing on academic and vocational excellence. 

Westside Academy Trust School (Free School)

Galena House, 8-30 Galena Road, London W6 0LT

Westside School is an alternative provision secondary school that is highly regarded in the neighbourhood. Recognised for supporting children and young people with SEND. 

Independent Schools in Hammersmith

There are a number of excellent independent schools in Hammersmith catering to children of all ages, dotted across the W6 postcode area.

Located on the southern side of Brackenbury Village, Godolphin and Latymer is an leading independent day school for girls aged 11-18. 

Despite being positioned in the very centre of Hammersmith, the school enjoys a serene six acre site. Godolphin and Latymer school aims to “encourage girls to learn about local, national and global issues, and in so doing . . . become considerate, compassionate and courageous young women.”

Latymer Upper School is one of the country’s leading fully co-educational schools, located on King Street, it is a striking feature of the area and incredibly popular with locally based families.
